Our Founder
Meet Sydney Chamorro - the mom who turned chips into a movement.
Hi, I’m Sydney, and I’m the proud mom of Aidan - the joyful heart behind everything we do at Aidan’s Joy.
This company wasn’t born in a boardroom or business plan. It started in our living room… with my son on the couch, a bag of chips, and a moment that changed our lives.
In 2022, Aidan lost access to his day support program. Like many adults with disabilities, he found himself stuck - no routine, no community, and no meaningful way to participate in the world. It broke my heart to see him without purpose.
Then one afternoon, Aidan wanted more chips. I said, “Sure - but first, you’ve got to do some work.”
That playful exchange sparked something unexpected. We set up a simple snack cart by the McKenzie River - chips, smiles, and a sign that said “Aidan’s Joy.” He greeted every customer with his signature charm, even as a non-speaker, and they responded with overwhelming warmth. Many didn’t just buy chips - they tipped him $10 or more, just to be part of the experience.
I knew we had stumbled onto something powerful.
Not a concession stand - a blueprint for joyful employment.
From Snacks to Social Impact
That snack cart led us to reimagine everything I thought I knew about disability, work, and opportunity.
With over a decade of experience running North Star Pathways - a support and training agency for people with disabilities - I’d already seen how systems often limit those who deserve more. But Aidan’s Joy became something different: a real business model, rooted in joy, dignity, and ability.
We started creating products that Aidan could be proud of - snacks he loves and approves himself. Each one is crafted with care, and every purchase directly supports programs that teach, employ, and uplift individuals who are too often overlooked.
Why I Called It “Aidan’s Joy”
Because when Aidan’s happy, our whole world is happy.
And when you buy something from us, you're not giving to a cause - you're fueling a cycle of joy, commerce, and empowerment. You’re creating real jobs, real dignity, and real purpose.
This is what happens when we stop seeing people as problems to be solved… and start seeing them as people with something to give.
Thanks for being part of the journey.
With joy,
Sydney
